Rector’s Discretionary Fund

Posted on by

One of the ways that we serve folks in need is through the Rector’s Discretionary Fund. While that name sounds as though it can be used for the Rector to go to Disney or something, it is actually the fund that is used by the Rector for direct relief to the poor and other charitable purposes. Funds are generally used to purchase food cards to local grocery stores, gas cards, and help with prescription costs. However, during the pandemic, donations were so generous that we were able to help people with utility bills, medical bills, and even rent/mortgage payments. Along with these regular uses, if there is a tragedy and a family needs help, we will ask for extra donations that will support that particular need.

You can contribute to this fund with a cash donation on the 1st and 5th weekends of the month, sending a check (please put Discretionary in the memo line), or through Venmo @EmmanuelEpiscopal-Church.
